Deborah Bernstein

Deborah Bernstein has worked in the film and television industry for over 30 years. Currently, she is teaching at Ryerson University and Humber College. Prior to teaching, Deborah spent many years at the CBC’s English Television Network where she held a number of senior positions. Her last position at CBC was as the Executive Director of Arts and Entertainment Programming. In this capacity, she oversaw the development, production and financing of drama, comedy, variety, arts, and children’s programming. Deborah has also worked with Telefilm Canada, The NFB, TV Ontario, and C Channel. Prior to a career in media, Deborah consulted for the federal and provincial governments on the changing role of women in the workforce. She also counselled students and women re-entering the workforce at the University of Toronto. Deborah holds a doctorate in Applied Psychology from the University of Toronto.
